Modelagem matemática do problema de coleta de resíduos de biomassa de madeira para fins energéticos

Este artigo trata da coleta de resíduos de madeira para fins energéticos. O processo de coleta foi decomposto em dois problemas de otimização: o de seleção dos produtores de madeira que ofereçam menor custo de aquisição e transporte de resíduos e o de dimensionamento da frota e designação dos veículos. São apresentadas as formulações matemáticas e estratégia de solução em ambiente de planilha eletrônica, de forma integrada com um conjunto de pacotes comerciais de otimização. Resolveu-se um problema real envolvendo a geração de vapor e energia para uma nova planta de refino de açúcar. Os resultados demonstraram ser viável obter a solução ótima para o problema de seleção de fornecedores, mas para o dimensionamento da frota e designação dos veículos os tempos de processamento resultaram muito elevados.
