Sustaining projects selection is configured as a classic optimization problem and one of the most used techniques in this case is Goal Programming, a multi-criteria analysis technique. This article will present a Weighted Goal Programming model, implemented on Microsoft Excel Solver add-in, to select projects of a railway sustaining portfolio. The results achieved shows that the model is an important support tool for decision taking and with the necessary adjustments, it can be used to prioritize projects of other natures.Downloads
